Behind the Scenes! (RuneRebels Ara)

BEHIND THE SCENES

Most of you know that we are currently working on a new update.
It is almost time for the release of RuneRebels Ara, the first of a series of updates for 2017.
Below you will find a glimpse of what is to be expected.



AGILITY COURSES!

With the help of our Developer RiiPiiN, we're getting close to releasing the Agility skill. RiiPiiN and Ryan "Ry60003333" have been working on fixing the many bugs we've found so far;
one of them being it's hard to deal with "Ryan working on all that dumb quest sh*t instead of my stuff"
for Ryan to prioritize which tools to work on so that all of us could progress in our own individual assignments.
Also, unfortunately we cannot clone Ryan. ;)

One of the main issues we came across with Agility was the fact that you couldn't fail any obstacles.
While some of you may think, "Eh, no problem!" We didn't want to release a half-hearted easy Agility skill.
We added a new method of failing, that enables either success or failure based on luck and skill.








QUESTS!

When we started up development again, we made it a our goal to get all the F2P quests completed.
It was a quite daunting task, as we didn't have very many developers.
Once we finally got the ball rolling, it kept on rolling and only stopped when we came across things that our Quest Editor tool
could not do. In order to combat this, we've added many handy functions to our Quest Editor, and are still adding more to it to aid us in our quest to have all the quests! With the help of our Quest Developers Brothership and Famoo,
as well as Bill, Onur, Austin, and James , we've been able to get a lot of work done at an astonishing rate.









RANGING GUILD!
In addition to above, we wanted to make sure we added another piece of content for you guys.
We revisited the Ranging Guild to see what it needed. We were greeted with a disappearing door, found many NPCs missing, and all of them had no dialogue.
We added the NPCs and their proper shops and dialogue, but after searching around a bit we found that it was impossible to shoot arrows over the fences to attack the Archers up in the towers. We thought of an idea to make it functional, thus making the Ranging Guild close to complete.


There's a lot more where all this came from, so stay tuned for RuneRebels Ara!

Nice to see that a storm of updates has been brewing. I have a question about how agility will be handled when it is finally released. Will the shortcuts all be disabled until you meet the agility requirement after the skill has been released?

Yes, all of the shortcuts we have now will be completely removed and redone within the agility plugin. So in order to use those you'll need to level up your agility :D

Yes, all of the shortcuts we have now will be completely removed and redone within the agility plugin. So in order to use those you'll need to level up your agility :D

Can confirm that chart is 100% accurate. ;D

I'd also like to add that if you haven't seen the development channel in Discord, our development strategy is 100 times better compared to before. We are extremely organized with everything that we are doing; we are keeping track of issues, everything is under source control, and I've created bots to do repetitive tasks for us. 8)

So happy to see that this server isn't dying (yet). Hope to see more progress  ;D
