Community interview: The lad with mad swag.
« on: July 16, 2013, 06:10:02 am »
A wise man once said "There are times when things have run past me and I just let them breeze by, and then there are times when things have run past me and I stop and think "Damn! I'd tap that!" Well, this time is definitely neither of those, but it sure is a time where I'd say "Why the hell not?" This is also a time where I find myself saying too much and being a dork on the internet, but then again I'd say "Why the hell not?" So before I forget why I am even writing this message to somebody I might've already forgotten, the short answer to your question is (if you haven't already guessed) "Why the hell not?"

Being intrigued by this statement, we tracked down this wise man and put him to an interview. You wanted it, and now we have it. The very first rune rebels community interview, I present to you, the developer known as Sean!

The Vanguard (TV): First of Sean, thank you agreeing to be my first test subject, and for starters, for all us rune rebels players and determined stalkers, tell us a little about you, you know, your interests beyond the game, your job, where you live, where you keep the spare key, what days and hours you happen to be away from home ect.

Sean:Alright well, I'm Sean. My first name is Sean, and my last name isn't Sean. My middle name is also not Sean. Now that we've covered the basics... My interests beyond gaming are mostly just based around art, music in particular. I currently do not have a job, unless you consider me getting paid by your mother to vigorously fill her insides with warm feelings. I live in British Columbia, Canada. My street address is TO^XNTQ^LTL (use http://seabreezecomputers.com/encrypter/ to decrypt the message, and set "Key" as "1"). I keep the spare key under the rug, like everybody else, except it's a lot more complicated than that, because I've super glued the rug to the floor, so that nobody can get the key.

To make matters harder, I've welded the key into the cement, so that nobody can ever take it out. Also, I've put a small pressure plate under the key, so that if anybody is actually able to take the key off the cement, the entire house will explode. There are a hundred other traps set up to further make achieving the spare key impossible, but I'm not going to let some 12 year old kids know how to break into my house unexpectedly and steal all my retro porn magazines.

Now, I'm usually away everyday between 6 and 9 pm and not a second later, because your mother typically wants as much time in bed for sleeping as she wants twerking.

I guess that generally answers all your current questions. I know there will be more coming my way, but I'll be as ready as your mom when I arrive to her bedroom door with my pocket rocket hanging out, ready to blast off into wonders unimaginable to the virgin eye.

The Vanguard: Brilliant, I have been wondering what my mother has been up too lately, and I guess all the trips to Canada explains why my bank account balance is -£87,000.

So tell us how you got into runescape in general, what kept you in, and what brought you to rune rebels later, and how came to be developing this fine server.

Sean How I got into Runescape - Well, I first got into Runescape when I was about 6 or 7 years old. I remember Runescape being all the rage back in elementrary. It was a great game. I remember being such a noob, that one time, I tried making money by selling the bronze scimitar that spawned on a table inside a house at Rimmington to the general store, and then waiting for it to respawn to repeat the brilliant money making process... fun times.

What kept me in - Cool Mom227... what a babe. Those large, round, juicy... never mind.

The discovery of RuneRebels - Before I found RuneRebels, I was in an on and off relationship with RSPSs. I would find a server, play for about a month or two, then quit and never touch another RSPS or even think about anything Runescape-related for months. This went on throughout all of middle school, until I decided to call the relationship off when I got into High school. Then one day, I had a sudden craving to try out RSPSs again. That's when I stumbled upon a wonderful little server called RuneRebels. I was searching through a list, most likely a list on Runelocus, looking for a Runescape private server that could help me re-live the glorious days of my childhood spent on Runescape. That's when I saw the name "RuneRebels", and I clicked on the link to the homepage, and I just thought it looked amazing. The rush of blood to the tip of my jolly rancher just excited me. I knew I had to play this server. The homepage itself was already really appealing, and it gave off the impression to me that the people working on the server knew what they were doing. So, on February 24, 2013, I registered for a game in hopes of enjoyment and to pass the time.

How I earned my spot on the staff team - I, like any other person, started off as any other regular player; A newbie, trying to figure out where all the cool people hung around. One of the first few things I did on the server, was not just kill a rat, steal a man's money, or rape a beautiful woman for their sweet, sweet virginity. One of the very first things I did was check on the highscores to see if anybody had taken my spot as the first to 99 strength, and to my surprise, nobody had. So I trained and I trained for such a goal. Along this journey, I had met many genuine people who I've come to call friends. Some of these people I have not seen in awhile, but others have stayed. Although a newbie, and also generally a nobody on the server, I came to find my grounds on the forums, being active in both communities within RuneRebels. After some time, I was unexpectedly offered the role of a Forum Moderator. I of course agreed, and carried on what I would usually do on the forums, except the added responsibility of said position. After sometime, I did eventually achieve my ultimate goal of being the first to 99 strength on the server, and alongside that, I eventually was offered to become a Global Moderator. I was happy, I felt like I was really welcomed here. After some time, I was then offered to become a Developer. I was told that they were in need of someone to help them supervise the server, so I agreed. Thus, marking the day on June 20, 2013, that I had joined the RuneRebels Development team as Sean.

The Vanguard: I relate to the task of doing weird things to earn money, until you discover the joy of rune essence and bowstrings. So you mentioned how you became a developer, and with the slight increase in activity of late, and with slayer being released and new content being added, what are you and your fellow developers working on, and what do you see happening to the rune rebels server in the coming weeks and months?

Sean: Right now, I'm currently working on getting Romeo to be with his true love, once and for all. The man hasn't yet had a happy ending. ;)

With the server quickly progressing in such a short amount of time, if all goes as planned, we should be seeing a lot of good updates in the near future. On behalf of the RuneRebels staff team, I would like to take the time to thank all of you for being so patient, and sticking with us through hard times. Hopefully now, you'll all get to enjoy the server a lot more than ever before. Hopefully we'll get to see some new faces arriving as well.

The Vanguard: Alright, we look forward to it, now a small question of my own, what have you got against the mighty penguin?

(Small note, for those not familiar with the story, feel free to question me in game on the story of the penguin and the hellcat)

SeanAh, yes... the mighty penguin. He's a bit of a goon sometimes, but he can be a mighty fine fella when he wants to be. I like to say that our relationship is a bit lopsided. He thinks he's a king or something... pffft. Regardless, he's a good 'wingman'. He's helped me score a couple ladies with his small little 'pecker'. They just look at him, think he's so cute, then look over at me, and notice how large and handsome I am. I've also helped the little guy score a few chicks of his own, don't get me wrong. I always pay the favour, cause I'm a swell guy like that. Your mom would know. ;)

The Vanguard: She does sing your praises on that account, right, before you at the mercy of the rune rebels community, do you have any shout outs to friends past, present, if you secretly happen to be the mystic type, future?

Sean: I don't really like giving shout outs to people because then that means I'm excluding everybody else from being on the list of "honourable mentions", and I hate excluding people. I'm the type of guy who likes to find ways for everyone to be included. So, to that question I'll say thank you to the rest of the RuneRebels staff team for all the hours that they have put into this wonderful server for others to enjoy, and to the community, for their constant love and support. We hope to provide you all with limitless hours of enjoyment the same way I do with my pocket rocket... err, yeah.

Thank you for your time Sean, and now, the part you have all been waiting for!

We now play a round called "Super Casino, Make a Joke Roulette!"

In this round, I put Sean to the questions, asked by you, the runerebels community, lets get this Sh** started!

Brothership : Do you have any sort of YouTube experience?

Sean:If by that you mean have I ever made any youtube videos and what not, then no. Youtube doesn't allow porn.

James: why is you so homosexcual?

Sean:Only for you bb.

Dior: You gonna put up ads for this server?

Sean:Right now, we want to focus on the server itself, adding more content and updates for you all, for with good content will come more players who won't just quit after the first 15 minutes.

Happyguyforum: On a scale of one to airplane, how much banana have you sucked lately?

Sean:It is not the quantity of bananas you've sucked my good man, but the quality of the banana being sucked, and I'll say, this banana is class A.

Garnu: If you could hitch hike from Earth in a Star Trek-esque way with Star Trek-esque planet lore, which Star Trek planet would you go to?

Sean:I would travel to the planet of the snoo-snoo lovin' giants. They have those, right? Yeah, let's go with that.

p3rf3ctd4rk:WHY ARE YOU HARASSING NEW PLAYERS AND ACTING LIKE ROCK CRABS?

Sean:WHY ARE YOU HARASSING ME IN ALL CAPS?

p3rf3ctd4rk: ARE CRABS AN ISSUE IN YOUR VILLAGE?

Sean:CRABS ARE AN ISSUE IN MY VILLAGE. WHERE I COME FROM, EVERY WOMAN HAS CRABS, AND IT IS NOT PRETTY SIGHT. CRABS MAKE IT HARD FOR A MAN TO ENJOY A GOOD TIME WITH A FEMALE. HOW DARE YOU JOKE ABOUT SUCH A TOPIC.

DING DING DING!!!!!

OOOOOH, sorry, we are all out of time, and possibly questions, who knows.

I would like to thank Sean for giving me his time for this interview, and to those who submitted questions, and to everyone who pushed me to get this thing started. If you are interested in being drilled by the runerebels community and myself.....for information, please private message me at your own convenience, please leave feedback on whatever you feel needs improving. Stay healthy guys!

Well, it is nice and all.  Maybe have questions offered of an amount you want asked next time instead of being vague about it.  I would have asked more questions myself if I knew that very few questions would be asked amongst the player base.

By the time I noticed it the question taking was closed, apparently.

Well, right now its not very likely I will do another one, but if I do, I will try to be more clear on things like that.
