Webclient.
« on: May 10, 2012, 07:13:01 pm »
I'm suggesting a Webclient because it's usefull full players also it's faster to play.
If the owners don't know how to make one.
I know.

The reason why Kane laughed is because the owners of All-Go-Free, RuneRebels, are geniuses. A webclient would be no trouble. They deleted the Webclient off Worldscape so I'm not sure if they will add one here.

The main thing with a webclient as opposed to a downloadable client is the reason why RSPS's are a "copyright" are because of the client/cache itself.  A webclient makes it easier for JaGeX's lawyers to swoop by and hit us with a DMCA notice. :-)
Hi, I'm James. I'm old as hell.

I need to Java again, lol

So does that mean there won't be a Webclient? I didn't think Jagex cared about 317 servers as much anymore?

A lot of people with 317 have webclients and lots of players, the only reason JaGeX tried to shut Ryan down was because they know he is a Java Guru and is one of the best coders. Though I'm sure having a webclient wouldn't really matter.

Most likely there will be a web client, but precautions must be taken beforehand.

Are you guys really still worried that Jagex will sue you for using some of their stuff? Yea they might but they might as well have fun with all of the thousands more servers that have the same thing.

It would be a bit of a waste of Ryan's work. He's been working on this stuff for years. For it to be taken away because of copyright would be overboard.

Do whatever it takes to keep All-Go-Free around  8)

We are going to put up a web client, we are just waiting until we can purchase some things we need to be able to do so legally. ;)

And it will be available before the launch. ;D
