Hi Covetous, lets try to get you fixed up here! Most likely this problem is caused by either not having Java or not having your paths set correctly. I have two simple ways you could fix this, either manually (video provided below will walk you through everything!) or a tool created by Lin from the community of MoarScape. Personally I prefer the tool as it's a one click fix, but if you are concerned about safety you can do it manually.

You could try the .exe version of the client here: .EXE Client, too bad idiots complained about the exe client looking like a virus even though it isn't(that's why it doesn't link to it anymore).

.exe wouldn't really change anything as it still uses java at its core. Ask Cheshire said, you're gonna have to set your environmental variables for those commands to work.
