As you guys probably know, the game and site have been a bit spotty. While at first we believed that this was just Time Warner messing up, someone may be trying to attack the game and/or website. Last night we turned the tunnel back on to Kevin's house, as my internet went out again, and then Kevin's internet went out today. Either that is a very odd coincidence, as we are on opposites sides of the country, or something fishy is going on.
We are working on implementing a whole fleet of DDOS mitigation techniques for both the site and game, as we want to aim for 99.9% uptime. Plus they really suck, not just for the players, but for the staff as well; I have now spent the last two days working on this issue instead of working on new content and bugfixes for the game, and that makes me sad.
