Hmm. I saw that "Gamecube" (an actual player name) was mining lots of iron ore the other day. Maybe he wants to sell?  :)

He made the iron ores to iron arrowheads so he can make them into iron arrows. Cause he is planning to go to green drags.

Imo it's not worth it to make arrows below mithril.
